Effective August 19, 2026
Abledo is a task manager built to work fully offline, on your own device, with an account as something you opt into rather than something the app requires. This page explains plainly what that means for your data: what stays on your device, what reaches our servers if you sign in, and how to delete any of it.
If you never sign in
Nothing about your tasks reaches us. They’re stored in your browser’s own local storage, on your own device, and Abledo’s servers never see them, back them up, or know they exist. Uninstalling the app or clearing your browser’s site data removes them completely — there is no copy anywhere else to delete.
If you sign in with Google
Signing in unlocks syncing your tasks across your devices, and creates an account that stores:
- From Google: your name, email address, and profile picture — the minimum Google shares for sign-in. We never see or store your Google password.
- Your content: tasks, notes, checklists, due dates, priorities, and any files you attach to a task or use as a profile picture.
- Team & project data, if you use those features: team names, invite codes, and who’s a member — visible to that team’s other members, never to anyone outside it.
- Progress data: completed-task counts, streaks, and badges, used only to show your own progress back to you.
- Billing status if you subscribe: which plan you’re on and your Stripe customer/subscription IDs. Your card details go directly to Stripe — they never pass through Abledo’s servers at all.
- Reminder delivery details, if you turn reminders on: a browser-generated subscription address and encryption keys that let a reminder reach you even with the app closed. These identify your browser installation, not you personally, and are used for nothing except delivering your own reminders.
- Basic request logs — IP address and browser user-agent — kept briefly for security purposes (blocking abuse and brute-force attempts), not for tracking or profiling.
The one AI feature, and what leaves our servers
“Add with AI” sends the text you type — and only that text — to Google’s Gemini API to turn it into a task. It runs only when you use that specific button, never automatically, and nothing else about your account is included in that request.
What we don’t do
- No advertising, no ad trackers, no analytics that follow you across other sites.
- No selling or renting your data to anyone, for any reason.
- No reading your tasks for any purpose other than showing them back to you (or, for a team task, to that team).
Who else touches this data
Signed-in data is processed by the infrastructure Abledo runs on, each bound to their own privacy commitments:
- Neon — hosts the database your account data lives in.
- Vercel — hosts the app itself and the file storage attachments and profile pictures use.
- Google — provides sign-in and, only when you use it, the AI capture feature.
- Stripe — handles payment if you subscribe; Abledo never receives or stores your card number.
Cookies
One cookie, if you sign in: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. It’s required for the account to function and isn’t used for advertising or cross-site tracking. No cookie is set at all if you never sign in.
Deleting your data
Open Settings → Account → Delete my account at any time. It immediately and permanently removes your profile, sign-in, private tasks and projects, progress data, billing record, and reminder subscriptions. A team you’re the only owner of is deleted with it; a team you co-own is handed to another member so their work isn’t affected. This can’t be undone from within the app. You can also email us at the address below to request deletion or ask what we hold on your account.
Children
Abledo isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them.
